Spalding Lab houses Chemistry and Chemical Engineering offices and labs as well as the Hartley Memorial Seminar Room. The facility was built in 1957 with funds allocated from the Eudora Hull Spalding Trust. The library was built with funds provided by the Sherman Fairchild Foundation, on the site of the old Caltech heating plant.
