Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory
Guggenheim is the location of GALCIT (Graduate Aerospace Laboratories at Caltech) and the Lees-Kubota Lecture Hall. The facility also houses wind tunnels used to test the aerodynamics of airplanes, automobiles, and other vehicles. These laboratories played a vital role in the development of the aircraft industry in Southern California, and they gave rise to JPL, where many of the first successful modern rockets were developed.
